Meow!  My name is Grace. I am a beautiful white and grey kitty girl who is 10 years young!  I am a super sweet, laid-back girl who is looking forward to being your lapwarmer on these cold winter days.  I also look forward to warming your heart, too!  I am going to make a great pet for some lucky family, so come down to meet me, and take me home today.  My adoption fee will be waived (FREE) with an approved application!

Purrrrrrr,

Grace

Grace is searching for a "furever" or foster home and family.  Come down and meet this sweetie today! Grace is currently staying at the Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection (RCACP).  As an open intake public shelter, we are often faced with difficult decisions to make space. If you are interested in saving this pet’s life by adopting, please contact the Regional Center at (540) 344-4922.

You may submit an adoption application by email. The application and email address can be found at www.rcacp.org. Adoption requests are also accepted by telephone: (540) 344-4922. You must submit an application along with your request to hold your place in the order requests are received. Before adoption, all pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested, and microchipped.  The RCACP's hours for adoption are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Thank you for saving a life!

Woof! My name is Sadie, and I am looking for my "furever" home. I am a gorgeous mixed breed girl with the most beautiful blue eyes. I am a very, very good girl who passed all the tests they gave me here at the shelter.  I love to play and love toys.  Do you have some toys at your house I can play with?  We can play fetch!  I seem to get along with other puppers, too!  What more could you ask for in a dog?  Come and meet me today and fall in love!

Love,

Sadie

Woof! My name is Daisy! I am a really cute black and tan hound mix girl who is about 2 years old!  I am a sweet girl who loves people and wants to please.  I love to play.  I bet I would make a fun hiking or walking partner.  I am going to be a great companion to some lucky family. I would probably prefer to be the only dog in your home so I can have you all to myself!  Come down to the shelter and take me home today.

Love,  Daisy

Pick Me!

Who is RCACP?

The Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) is an open intake facility accepting stray and lost animals from animal control officers and the public, as well as owner relinquished pets, from the City and County of Roanoke, the County of Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton. The RCACP posts pictures of lost or strayed animals on their website, www.rcacp.org, to make it possible to search for a lost pet online. The website also contains a lost and found database that allows someone who has lost a pet, or someone who has found a pet, to post information on the animal to help reunite the pet with his/her family.

Adopting a Friend

Once an animal has passed his/her required holding time at the facility to allow the owner to reclaim him/her, the RCACP works with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, rescue groups and other shelters to place available animals in suitable homes. Animals who are housed at the RCACP that are posted on the Petfinder.com website have been deemed available and can be seen by visiting the center Monday - Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Once an adoption request is placed, an appointment will be made to complete the adoption through the RVSPCA. Each will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. To place an adoption or rescue request, or for more complete information, please email us at  or call (540) 344-4922. Be sure to give us the animal's ID number to assure your name is on the right pet.
