Meow!  We're Mack and Zena. We are both staying here in the free roam room at the RCACP and have become the best of friends!  We are about the same age, around 9 years young.  We love being together and playing, and we would really like to be adopted together.  Please come and meet us. We're all ready to go home with you today.   Our adoption fees will be waived (FREE) with an approved application!

Purrrrrrr,

Mack and Zena

Woof! My name is Diamond, and I am looking for my "furever" home. I am a gorgeous "Pibble" mix girl with the most beautiful brown eyes. I am black and white with the cutest little white paws. The people here at the shelter always tell everyone how sweet and social I am.  I love people and I seem to get along with other doggies.  I am only about a year and a half old.  You know what they say... Diamonds are a girl's (or anyone's for that matter!) best friend.  I'm ready to be your BEST friend.  Come down and meet me today.  I promise you won't be disappointed--I'm a real GEM!

Love,

Diamond

I am up for anything that you are up for.  I think it would be fun to be your walking or hiking partner and then come home and snuggle on the couch. Come down to the shelter and take me home today.

Pick Me!

Who is RCACP?

The Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) is an open intake facility accepting stray and lost animals from animal control officers and the public, as well as owner relinquished pets, from the City and County of Roanoke, the County of Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton. The RCACP posts pictures of lost or strayed animals on their website, www.rcacp.org, to make it possible to search for a lost pet online. Contact the Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection (RCACP) for the Roanoke, Virginia, area and to report a lost or found pet. Call (540) 344-4922.

Adopting a Friend

Once an animal has passed his/her required holding time at the facility to allow the owner to reclaim him/her, the RCACP works with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, rescue groups and other shelters to place available animals in suitable homes. Animals who are housed at the RCACP that are posted on the Petfinder.com website have been deemed available and can be seen by visiting the center Monday - Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Once an adoption request is placed, an appointment will be made to complete the adoption through the RVSPCA. Each will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. To place an adoption or rescue request, or for more complete information, please email us at  or call (540) 344-4922. Be sure to give us the animal's ID number to assure your name is on the right pet.
