The Active Senior Adult Program offers activities for senior adults who are 55 years of age and older. In this program adults will be able to take classes, make crafts, go on day trips on our 19-passenger bus, take overnight tours and week-long trips, enjoy potluck luncheons, experience Tai Chi, and learn line dancing.
Please contact Senior Program Coordinator Penny Beyer at (540) 983-0643 for additional information or drop by the Charles R. Hill Community Center for a visit. The center is located at 820 Washington Avenue in Vinton, across the parking lot from the Vinton War Memorial.
The senior center is available to the public to reserve for meetings, seminars, luncheons, dinners, weddings, receptions, social gatherings, and other special occasions.
The cost is $40 an hour for a resident of Vinton and $50 an hour for a non-resident. The capacity is from 160 to 230 based on the type of seating. The standard set-up is set with 13 round tables, 65-70 chairs, and five rectangular tables. The tables and chairs may be set up in a different configuration as long as they are set up back in their original place after the event. A $50 damage deposit and a private banquet license from the Alcohol Beverage Control office is required for events with alcoholic beverages.
