Although cases of the Coronavirus in Virginia have gone up, we have not seen community transmission of the virus. That is why we are taking this time to plan and mitigate to decrease the chances of further spreading the virus.
Effective immediately, the Town of Vinton is postponing all Senior Programs that take place at the Charles R. Hill Community Center until at least April 2, 2020.
The Active Senior Adult Program offers activities for senior adults who are 55 years of age and older. The program includes:
Arts and crafts
Day trips on our 19-passenger bus
Please contact Senior Program Coordinator Penny Beyer at 540-983-0643 for details or drop by the Charles R. Hill Community Center, 820 E Washington Avenue, (across the parking lot from the Vinton War Memorial).
The Community Center is available to rent for meetings, seminars, luncheons, dinners, weddings, receptions, social gatherings, and other special occasions. The rental fee is $50 per hour for Vinton residents and $60 an hour for non-residents.
The room capacity ranges from 160 to 230, based on the type of seating. The standard set-up is 12 round tables, 72 to 96 chairs, and five rectangular tables. The tables and chairs may be set up in a different configuration as long as they are returned to their original place after the event.
A refundable damage deposit of $100 and a private banquet license from the Alcohol Beverage Control office is required for events with alcoholic beverages. You may apply online for a banquet license.
