"Bianca"--ID#1201266
Meow!  My name is Bianca! I am only about a year old, and I have found myself homeless.  I was found as a stray and brought here to the shelter to find my "furever" home.  I am a beautiful domestic shorthair calico cat with the softest, silkiest fur.  I have a lot of love to give to a special family. I love to purr loudly when I am happy.  I also love tuna flavored treats and catnip!  Would you come down to the shelter and meet me today?  My adoption fee will be waived (FREE) with your approved application!

Purrrrrrrr, Bianca

Bianca is searching for a forever home and family. Come down and meet this cutie today! Bianca is currently staying at the Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection (RCACP).
As an open intake public shelter, we are often faced with difficult decisions to make space. If you are interested in saving this pet’s life by adopting, please contact Roxy Brown at (540) 344-4922 or by email.

You may submit an adoption application by email. The application can be found at www.rcacp.org. Adoption requests are also accepted by telephone: (540) 344-4922. You must submit an application along with your request to hold your place in the order requests are received. Before adoption, all pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested, and microchipped.  The RCACP's hours for adoption are 11:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Saturday. Thank you for saving a life!

Woof Woof!

My name is Snipes Campbell.  I am a 3 year old Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix who came to the shelter as a stray. I am a very high energy guy who loves to run and play!  I love to play with other dogs, too.  I would do best in a home that can provide me with a lot of exercise and stimulation to keep my energy level in check. I would make a great running partner or perhaps a great agility dog!   Won't you come by the shelter today to meet me today and take me home?

Love

Pick Me!

Who is RCACP?

The Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) is an open intake facility accepting stray and lost animals from animal control officers and the public, as well as owner relinquished pets, from the City and County of Roanoke, the County of Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton. The RCACP posts pictures of lost or strayed animals on their website, www.rcacp.org, to make it possible to search for a lost pet online. The website also contains a lost and found database that allows someone who has lost a pet, or someone who has found a pet, to post information on the animal to help reunite the pet with his/her family.

Adopting a Friend

Once an animal has passed his/her required holding time at the facility to allow the owner to reclaim him/her, the RCACP works with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, rescue groups and other shelters to place available animals in suitable homes. Animals who are housed at the RCACP that are posted on the Petfinder.com website have been deemed available and can be seen by visiting the center Monday - Friday between 11:30 - 5:30 pm and Saturday 11:30 - 4:00 pm. Once an adoption request is placed, an appointment will be made to complete the adoption through the RVSPCA. Each will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. To place an adoption or rescue request, or for more complete information, please email us at  or call (540) 344-4922. Be sure to give us the animal's ID number to assure your name is on the right pet.
