Meow!

I'm Chime, and I am just a kitten looking for the "purrrrfect furever" home after coming to the shelter as a stray.  I was out in the big world all alone, but now I am being cared for until I can find a home of my very own.
I am only about 3 months old, and I am super sweet little girl. I can be a bit shy when I first meet you, but once I get to know you, I warm up quickly!  I am a beautiful tuxedo kitty.
If you can be my "furever" family, my
adoption fee will be waived (FREE) with your approved application!

Purrrrrrr,

Chime

Woof Woof!

I'm Raven, and I am looking for my "furever" home after coming to the shelter as an owner release.  I'm a Labrador Retriever mix, and
I am only about 2 years old.  The people here at the shelter tell me I am super sweet girl. I love to play and seem to get along well with other dogs.  I passed my tests here at the shelter with flying colors.  I am ready to find my new "furever" home.  I hope you can be
my "furever" family.  Come by the shelter to meet me today!

Paws Up,

Raven

I am ready to learn all kinds of tricks and commands in my new home.  Could you come by my shelter to meet me today?

Pick Me!

Who is RCACP?

The Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) is an open intake facility accepting stray and lost animals from animal control officers and the public, as well as owner relinquished pets, from the City and County of Roanoke, the County of Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton. The RCACP posts pictures of lost or strayed animals on their website, www.rcacp.org, to make it possible to search for a lost pet online. The website also contains a lost and found database that allows someone who has lost a pet, or someone who has found a pet, to post information on the animal to help reunite the pet with his/her family.

Adopting a Friend

Once an animal has passed his/her required holding time at the facility to allow the owner to reclaim him/her, the RCACP works with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, rescue groups and other shelters to place available animals in suitable homes. Animals who are housed at the RCACP that are posted on the Petfinder.com website have been deemed available and can be seen by visiting the center Monday - Friday between 11:30 - 5:30 pm and Saturday 11:30 - 4:00 pm. Once an adoption request is placed, an appointment will be made to complete the adoption through the RVSPCA. Each will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. To place an adoption or rescue request, or for more complete information, please email us at  or call (540) 344-4922. Be sure to give us the animal's ID number to assure your name is on the right pet.
