| ACCUMULATION OF DEBRIS/TRASH/GARBAGE Section 62.2(A) of the Code of the Town of Vinton states that all exterior property areas and premises within the Town Limits shall be maintained in a clean, safe condition free from any accumulation of debris, trash, and/or garbage. Failure to do so shall constitute a violation of this code section, and shall be considered a public nuisance. Accumulation of debris, trash, and/or garbage is prohibited, and the property owner must dispose of the debris properly. BOATS AND CAMPERS IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS Section 5-23 of the Vinton Zoning Ordinance states that campers and boats are allowed in all residential districts. However, no recreational vehicle shall be parked or stored in any required front or side yard along a street or in any interior side yard on any lot located in a residential or R-B Residential District. In the instance of a corner lot that fronts on 2 streets, each yard that fronts a street shall be considered a front yard. A recreational vehicle is defined as a vehicle built on a single chassis intended to be towed or self-propelled or attached to the chassis of another vehicle, and designed or used for recreational uses, travel, sporting purposes, or for temporary living quarters in conjunction with such purposes. COMMERCIAL VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS Section
5-24 of the Vinton Zoning Ordinance states that parking a commercial vehicle
in a residential zoning district is prohibited. A commercial vehicle is
defined as a truck or other vehicle with an empty weight of 5,000 pounds
or that is equipped with or designed to have more than two wheels, and
is designed or regularly used for carrying freight, merchandise, or more
than 10 passengers, including busses.
INOPERATIVE/JUNK VEHICLES
Inoperative vehicles are subject to enforcement by the Town of Vinton. The owner of such a vehicle can remedy the problem by doing one or all of the following:
WEEDS/TALL GRASS Section 62.2(B) of the Code of the Town of Vinton states that it is unlawful for the owner of any property within the Town to permit the growth of any grass, weeds, or other foreign growth to grow to a height of 12 inches or more. A lot is considered to be a nuisance if the above code section applies to the lot. The owner of the lot is responsible for maintaining the lot and preventing such situation from arising. ![]() |
