  2. 61st Annual Vinton Dogwood Festival & Parade

    April 30, 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM @ Downtown Vinton

    Dogwood Saturday, April 30, features a 5K run/walk, craft, food and retail vendors, entertainment stages, a free Kids' Zone, the crowning of the Vinton Dogwood queen and much more. The annual Dogwood Festival Parade steps-off at 2:30 p.m. at the Vinton War Memorial, and the Carnival Midway stays open until 11 p.m. with live entertainment on the Main Stage.

  3. Drug Take Back Day

    April 30, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ In Vinton at the Hardy Road Kroger Parking Lot

    Turn in your unused or expired medications for FREE, SAFE disposal on Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Convenient parking lot locations for drop-offs include: ~Roanoke - Roanoke Civic (Berglund) Center; ~Botetourt County - Daleville Kroger; ~Salem - Super Shoes on Main Street; ~Craig County - Market Street Pharmacy; ~Roanoke County - Tanglewood Mall Kroger, Kroger on Valley Gateway Blvd., Kroger at Colonial & Brambleton & the Hershberger Road Fire and Rescue Station #1; ~VINTON- Hardy Road Kroger; ~or visit www.dea.gov for additional drug disposal sites in your area No appointment is necessary - the public is welcome. Simply bring your medications to this event where they can be safely collected and destroyed by local law enforcement and DEA agents. Participating in this drug take-back event instead of leaving medications unsecured in your home or flushing them down the toilet will help prevent drug abuse and protect our valley’s waterways!
